About

About our foodbank

Great Yarmouth Foodbank provides emergency food to individuals and families in crisis locally. There is delivery available when needed, as well as wraparound support.

A parcel from Great Yarmouth Foodbank provides essential supplies and a nutritionally balanced emergency foodbox to cover basic needs during the critical time gap before other support services assist.

We work closely with local charities, agencies and professional bodies, whose professionals identify people in crisis and refer them to us. With us they are given a warm welcome, a hot drink and a food parcel, as well as a listening ear and help finding other professionals who can assist them with the underlying problem that is causing their crisis. We offer holistic support and advice to people, often facing adversity; through our DIAL financial adviser and through other external advice services. This wraparound approach connects people with ongoing support and aims to reduce the chances of the client needing to use a foodbank in the future.

By giving food and/or money to Great Yarmouth Foodbank – you can be a vital donor to the community, helping our charity providing emergency food to local people in crisis.

Our foodbank is run by the local community, at Minster Mission Great Yarmouth, for the local community. Great Yarmouth Foodbank is governed by the overall charity Great Yarmouth Pathway (1178940), which is an independent charity with an independent board of trustees. From the trustees, to staff and through to volunteers, our team is made up of local people committed to providing support across the area.
